Design System Census Ask to join

Beta version, 29 October 2026

Design System Census terms of use (free beta)

Effective 29 October 2026.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are an agreement between I Don't Know OÜ, Ahtri tn 12, 15551 Tallinn, Estonia, registry code 16915948, VAT ID EE102748956 ("we", "us") and the person or organization that uses Design System Census ("you"). They cover the Design System Census Figma Community plugin and the Design System Census service behind it.

If you create a workspace for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf; the organization is then the customer and these terms bind it.

Design System Census is not made, endorsed or operated by Figma. Your use of Figma is governed by your own agreement with Figma.

2. The free beta

  • Design System Census is in a free beta. You pay nothing, and we ask for no payment details.
  • The beta is offered to test the product with design teams. Features may change, appear or be removed, and the service may be interrupted. We provide it "as is" and make no promise of availability or support response times.
  • We will tell workspace owners in the plugin at least 30 days before the beta ends or before anything in it stops being free. You can then keep using the service on the new terms, or delete your workspace.

3. Who can use Design System Census

  • The free audit of an open file ("This file") needs no account and sends nothing to us.
  • The workspace needs a Design System Census account, created by signing in with Figma. Only people with a Figma Full seat (Figma Design and Dev Mode) or Dev seat (Dev Mode) can run the plugin.
  • You must be at least 16 and use Design System Census for professional purposes.
  • You keep your Figma account secure. We never ask for your Figma password.

4. Workspaces, owners and members

  • The person who creates a workspace is its owner. The owner invites members with invite codes, can remove members and files, and can delete the workspace.
  • Every member can add files to the workspace by scanning them in the plugin, and can rescan tracked files.
  • Members can see the names of all tracked files, their folders and their usage numbers, including files they cannot open in Figma. A workspace is shared: only invite people who may see this information. The owner controls membership.
  • A beta workspace tracks up to 250 files. We raise the limit on request; write to hello@designsystemcensus.com.

5. Your data

  • You own your data. Workspace data (scan results, file and asset names, usage counts, findings, members) belongs to the customer. We use it only to provide Design System Census to you, as described in our privacy policy (https://dsa-api-o89d.onrender.com/privacy).
  • For workspace data that is personal data, the customer is the controller and we are its processor. A data processing agreement (DPA) is available on request: write to hello@designsystemcensus.com and we send it before you start using the workspace.
  • Design System Census analyzes the file you open on your computer and sends us only derived data (counts, keys, IDs, and names of files, folders and library assets), never the content of your designs.
  • You confirm that you may scan the files you add, and that adding them does not break your obligations to others.
  • You can remove files, members, your account or your workspace in the plugin at any time; the deletion is immediate (see the privacy policy for backups).

6. Acceptable use

You will not:

  • use Design System Census to break the law, or Figma's terms or acceptable use policy;
  • try to access another workspace's data, test our security without our written permission, or overload or disrupt the service;
  • reverse engineer the service except where the law allows it;
  • share your session with others, or let people who are not members use your workspace.

We may suspend access that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it.

7. Figma's platform

Design System Census depends on Figma's platform. Figma may change or end the access Design System Census relies on at any time. If that happens, we may have to change or stop the service, and we will tell you as early as we can.

8. Ending use

  • You can stop at any time: delete your account or workspace in the plugin.
  • We may end the beta or close a workspace with at least 30 days' notice in the plugin, or at once if a workspace breaks these terms seriously or the law requires it.
  • When a workspace is deleted, its data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

9. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence.
  • Otherwise, because the beta is free, our total liability is limited to EUR 100, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We tell workspace owners in the plugin at least 30 days before a change that affects them takes effect. If you keep using Design System Census after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account or workspace.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Disputes go to Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus) in Tallinn, Estonia, unless mandatory law gives you another choice.
